Dr. Stefanos Vrochidis received the Diploma degree in Electrical Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, the MSc degree in Radio Frequency Communication Systems from University of Southampton and the PhD degree in Electronic Engineering from Queen Mary University of London. Currently, he is a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Information Technologies Institute. His research interests include semantic multimedia analysis, indexing and information retrieval, data mining, search engines and human interactions, as well as digital TV learning and environmental applications. Currently Dr. Vrochidis is the Scientific Manager and the deputy Project Coordinator of the FP7 project MULTISENSOR and the Interaction Coordinator of the Cost Action iV&L: The European Network on Integrating Vision and Language (iV&L Net): Combining Computer Vision and Language Processing For Advanced Search, Retrieval, Annotation and Description of Visual Data. He is currently involved as SEC BeAWARE, SEC TENSOR, hackAIR and KRISTINA project as WP leader. Dr. Vrochidis has successfully participated in many European and National projects and he has been involved as a co-author in more than 95 related scientific journal, conference and book chapter publications.
